I understand it is important to set and aim to achieve a target during each session. This Target Plan is my responsibility and it is to be brought to every lesson.
If progress with targets is not achieved, lunchtime catch-up sessions will be arranged, failure to attend these will result in disciplinary action.

DID I ACHIEVE MY TARGET?
What went well? - What didn’t go well? - Why?

Unit 8-FMP

I will be carrying on with my pitch, specifically the reason why I've chosen my idea and how I will be researching into it, as well as finding similar examples of my idea. This will be 3-4 slides long, but the overall pitch will be about 7 slides long. I think this is achievable as I know what I need to look for and I have access to all the resources I need to do it. This is relevant as it will allow me to tell people about my idea as well as giving myself a clearer picture of what I'm aiming to achieve. I want to have this done by 4:00pm.

Research
|
Continue with research into music videos and start making a story board. I will aim to have at least 1 video fully analyses by the end of todays session at 4:00pm as well as having made a start of thinking of what the story board will look like.

Today I will look at my target audience and look at demographics and psychographics. I will also look at the codes and conventions of music videos. I aim to have this done by 4:00pm today.

Plan:
- Man walking quickly to friend’s house, distressed and in clear need of some help.
- Friend opens door to see man on his knees begging for help and crying. The men argue and the friend pulls the man up and pushes him away.
- The friend slams his door and the man stands for a second, before walking off upset and defeated that friend wouldn’t help him.
- Shows friend inside standing at door, hand hovering over handle before shaking head and turning around to walk away from door.
- Shows man in his house standing in front of a mirror, upset and tear stained face.
- Man sitting on floor surrounded by empty/half empty bottles of alcohol.
- The man is next seen collapsing, the bottle he holds rolls out of his hand that now lies on the floor. The camera is focusing on the hand and bottle; the man in the back is out of focus.
- The scene then changes to the man’s friend knocking on his door, getting more stressed as he doesn’t answer.
- Finally, he gets in to see his friend on the floor. He rushes over to help but it’s too late and he breaks down.
- The next scene shows him at his friend’s grave stone in a graveyard. He is clearly very upset and is holding back tears.
- He is then seen running through a forest, whilst thinking of flashbacks of him and his friend there and thinking about the good times they had together.
- He collapses against a tree and cries, holding his head in his hands and shaking.
- The man is then seen walking out of the forest, still upset, and walking back to his house.
- Along the way he has continuous flash backs of him and his friend and he's get more agitated and upset by the minute.
- He hurriedly walks home and tries to ignore all the memories around him.
- He walks in and grabs a bottle of alcohol and sits down to start drinking. He brings out his phone and looks at old pictures of him and his friend and realises that he should’ve done more to help him.
- The scene flashes between the man on the sofa and scenes with him and his friend in the exact spot laughing and having fun.
- The camera is slowly zooming in on his face whilst he's crying, but the scene is still quickly switching between him and his memories.
- He quickly sands up and the camera lingers for a second. It then follows him to the kitchen picking up some more alcohol, and then shows him walking through again to the living room.
- The scene shows him drinking and then finally passing out on the couch.
- He then wakes startled in his bed after hearing knocking at the door. He looks confused for a second before going downstairs;he's wearing the exact same thing as he was when his friend first came over asking for help.
- He opens the door to see his friend there; the whole thing had been a dream. The man lets his friend in after seeing what would've happened if he didn't help him.

You have planned out the narrative of your idea here, what you need to consider now is how you are going to communicate this to your audience visually. For example, you may wish to create a storyboard, identifying the shot types and mise-en-scene that you will use to tell your story?
ReplyDeleteOther forms of planning might include risk assessments, location recces, examples of what your characters might wear or act. It's important that you pre-visualise you work before creating it.
The narrative of the video is well planned. There are no reflections in the target plans though and are only half finished, also add story boards, shot types etc
